“To be in a situation where you have to take two lives to save your own, you have no idea what that does to you,” Horn said.
He wouldn't have been in this cituation had he stayed in his home like the 911 operator told him.
“I didn’t go outside to engage anybody. I just went outside to help get information for the police,” Horn said.
This is also a bunch of bullshit. He cocked his gun while he was on the phone with the 911 operator and told them he was going out there with his gun. He went out there to kill them not negotiate. Helloooo. Did he think the robbers where going to give him any information?
“When you’re confronted, and when somebody rushes you and you’ve already told them not to move, you know that you must shoot or you’re gonna be dead,” Horn said.
According to autopsies, they were shot in the back.
Again, he should have stayed safe and sound in his home and let the 911 call suffice.
The Castle Doctrine is a controversial law that gives Texans a stronger right to defend themselves with deadly force in their homes, cars and workplaces.
Personally, I have no problem with this law but I think it should be presented more clearly. The Castle Doctrine gives us a stronger right to defend ourselves in OUR HOMES, at OUR WORKPLACES and if someone is stealing/vandalizing our car (not repossessing). Not our neighbor's. The bottom line is all I ask is for my neighbor to call the police if they witness someone breaking into my home/car. We are not supposed to have weapons at our workplaces anyway so that is an entirely different topic.
